What kind of decor can give a teen room the look I want?
I'm 13 and gonna decorate a new bedroom. I want to incorporate some stuff that shows my love for the ocean, fantasy (pixies and all that), and nature. I also want to give it a dark/gothic castle look to it. We don't own the house so we can't repaint. It's fairly small with my double bed. I want to get a new bedspread, some artwork, maybe bookshelves that aren't too big and bulky, and I want to decorate my dresser, night table, and desk. Ideas? Thanks so much.
One colour that came to my mind was dark purple. A nice deep purple can be associated with water, like the deep ocean, it's kind of gothic, and it reminds me of pixies. It sucks that you can't repaint but you could put up poster or my main suggestion: curtains. When I say curtains, I don't mean necessarily on the windows, but on the walls too! You could get some fabric and paint on it (If you wanted to) Or just get some nice fabric that goes with the theme you want and hang it all around your room. This way, it will give your walls some colour, PLUS add a cozy factor that could be assimilated with the ocean and water.
